On the phone

Walk notes, stall order, and a stable app id stay on the device. The id is created once: a saved value if one already exists, otherwise an advertising id when that id is real, otherwise a new random id. An all-zero advertising id is ignored. The saved id is not replaced later.

When the app talks to us

Opening the service sends device details the app already has: model, system version, language, time zone, app version, a web view user agent, the time the app was first installed, a push token if notifications are allowed, and the Play install referrer string when Play provides one. We use that to decide whether to show the service or the market screens, and to route a notice you open.

Notices

If you allow notifications, a delivery and an open are reported with the notice id only, so we know the notice arrived and was tapped.

Camera and files

The camera and file picker are used only when a page you opened asks for a photo. We do not run a separate camera feature in the market screens.
